The Directorate perform the following functions: -

1. To provide quality, reliable and sustainable nursing services;
2. To formulate policies, guidelines and regulations relating to nursing services;
3. To develop nursing services and quality control guidelines are and monitor their implementation;
4. To plan and assess implementation of clinical nursing plan;
5. To monitor implementation of the nursing services based on the institutional standard operating procedures/ guidelines/ protocols;
6. To conduct operational researches to improve evidence-based nursing practices;
7. To provide sterilization services;
8. To manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, linens, uniforms, hospital furniture and fittings;
9. To manage waste collection, waste segregation and waste disposal as per acceptable health standards;
10. To coordinate delivery of quality laundry services;
11. To coordinate provision of tailoring services;
12. To coordinate cleanness, maintenance and upgrading of the Institute surroundings;
13. To coordinate provision of catering services; and
14. To coordinate provision of all other inpatient services including bedding, furnishing and decorations.
