Dr Martin Simon Rubamba is a dedicated and experienced medical doctor working at the Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute, in the Critical Care Section of the Cardiac Surgery Department. Dr Martin Simon Rubamba plays a vital role in caring for patients after surgery, focusing on stabilizing them and ensuring they recover safely during this critical period. Beyond providing medical care, Dr Martin Simon Rubamba takes on important leadership roles. These include being part of the hospital’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee, helping to ensure the responsible use of antibiotics, and serving as the Risk Champion for the Cardiac Surgery Department, identifying and managing potential risks to improve patient safety. He also contributes to the team that works on improving care in the Critical Care Section and leads training programs to develop the skills of other healthcare professionals. Dr Martin Simon Rubamba is licensed to practice medicine across Tanzania, with registrations from both the Medical Council of Tanganyika (Registration No. MCT 6574) and the Zanzibar Medical Council (Registration No. P/MD/0576). As a certified trainer in pediatric resuscitation, Dr Martin is part of a specialized group called the Pediatric Acute Interventions and Resuscitation Skills Group (PAIRS Group), which collaborates with pediatric experts from Ireland to improve care for children in emergencies. Dr Martin has completed important training programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) and a Pediatric Echocardiography course, which involved hands-on training at JKCI. These certifications enhance Dr Martin’s ability to provide high-quality care. Passionate about critical care and improving healthcare systems in Tanzania, Dr Martin combines expertise with a drive to continuously learn and improve.
