Pedro Pallangyo is a Specialist Physician and Public Health Specialist. He currently heads the Unit of Research, Training and Public Outreach at Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute. He received his Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine from Dartmouth Medical School (USA) and Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences respectively. He has 64 publications (43 as first author) in peer-reviewed journals and a total of 384 citations. He received the Young African Researcher’s Award in 2017 and the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award in 2024 for his scholarly work. His current research interests involve exploration of interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk and improve outcomes in hypertensive, cardiomyopathy and heart failure patients in Tanzania.
