Has received his medical training from premier institutes in Europe, Australia, Japan and USA. MD from Kharkov Medical Institute, Ukraine, Residence (master’s degree) under the supervision of Prof Ian Riley at the University of Queensland Herston Medical School campus Brisbane, Australia. Received his PhD (cardiology) and post doctorate (recipient of Japan Society for Promotion of Science) from Graduate School Osaka University Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine and Molecular Science, under supervision of Prof Yuji Matsuzawa (co founder of Syndrome X). In addition to clinical cardiology training in these institutions, Dr Janabi has been attached as a senior clinician at Fazarkeley Hospital Liverpool (under Prof Nicholas Beeching), Bergen University Norway (under Jan Erik) and medical University of South Carolina USA (Prof Eric Powers and Peter Zwerner) when he still retains his faculty position at the department of cardiology MUSC.

Furthermore, has keen interest in academics (Honorary Lecturer with Muhimbili University of Health Allied Sciences-MUHAS) and research. He has a number of publications in various national and international journals. He has been a mentor for students undergoing training in Cardiology (MSc) and residents of Internal Medicine at Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute and MUHAS. Has been invited as faculty in various national and international meetings.
